First meeting of the Yarker Community Association took place on October 15th in the Waterfall Tearoom in Yarker.

The initiators if the meeting were very happy to greet over 40 participants. Andrzej Maciejewski prepared a slide-show of historical photographs of Yarker and David Pickering gave a lecture about Yarker history and heritage. The photographs used for the slide-show came from private collections of Eric DePoe and David Pickering.
We gathered the information about volunteers who would like to commit their time and effort to our community and about areas of interest and possible projects for the Yarker Community Association. So far we know that inhabitants of Yarker are interested in improvement and new projects in following areas: Heritage (documenting and profiling the history of the village), Sports and Recreation, Activities for children and teens, Arts (music, film, visual arts, photography), Community events and festivals, Ecology (Friends of Napanee River) and Beautification of the village. Please contact us, by e-mail at yarker.community@gmail.com or by leaving a comment under this post, if you would like to add something to this list or if you have some ideas for the projects beneficial for our community. If you would like to be added to the volunteers list, please e-mail us.
