Carolyn Pickering:- Interested in developing and promoting the History of Yarker through website and specific installations throughout the community.

Eric Depoe :- the promotion of both the arts and sports

Richard Ryde:- documentation and sharing of heritage of the village

Sharon Westendorp:- restoration of community spirit. In times of crisis village shows a great deal of community spirit. We need leadership to help use this spirit in a positive way at other times. Also interested in landscaping of the area to visually improve the appearance of the village.

Wayne Goodyer :- focus on the Napanee River (Habitat Education). Find ways to try and promote the village. Find ways to re-orienate people to the community. Many people have little or no interaction with the village itself.

Rob Renaud:- as a recreational triathelete he hopes to promote fitness in the Village and surrounding areas. Presently promotes fitness in Kingston

Debbie Richmond:- as a long time resident would like to continue to highlight the village and its history through the development of projects such as a walkway to the Falls and installation of the Yarker Bell and the Grist stone.

Group discussion about the mandate for this organization. Richard Ryde suggested this could be divided into three areas. Social/Historic/Recreational. He cautioned the group not to be too ambitious. Which geographic area do we include? As Yarker and District Community Association it would include more interested people especially in areas like Colebrook. Wayne Goodyer also suggested we align ourselves with already existing groups such as the United and Methodist churches and the Yarker Family school.

Need to put an executive in place as soon as possible the steering committee was identified as an interim measure. Would roll over the steering committee into the executive as soon as possible into a charitable organization. Anna Szczepaniec is researching this.

How do we serve the community? Group suggested a Survey of all residents . How to structure the Survey was discussed. Wayne Goodyer agreed to research an effective method of surveying the community and report back at the next meeting. The group agreed to consider suitable areas to survey and report back to group at the next meeting.

Anna Szczepaniec discussed the role of the Blog in communicating and sharing ideas. Some members although interested in knowing about the Blog preferred personal contact with meetings.
